Practice Transformation Specialist
Amanda has 12 years of experience in the health care industry supporting physicians and community health centers with managing and implementing projects involving telemedicine, patient referral processes, process improvement and quality improvement activities.
As a Practice Transformation Specialist, she specializes in health equity, practice transformation, telehealth program implementation, care coordination and care management, implementing new models of care and behavioral health integration with the practices and health centers she supports, while also responsible for project managing her assignments.
Prior to her role as a Practice Transformation Specialist, she worked in various direct patient care roles at a local health care center in Wenatchee, Washington. During her multiple roles, Amanda’s focus was on ambulatory and hospital care settings. She holds multiple EPIC EHR Certifications, which have allowed her to train providers and support staff around utilization and proper workflow. She is a Certified Medical Assistant Phlebotomist, Nationally Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and Gastroenterology Surgical Assistant. After relocating to California, she gained valuable knowledge within California’s rural health communities and saw the struggle for obtainable health care. Her roles as Telehealth Case Manager and Referral Department Manager gave great insight into the lack of providers and valuable care for rural communities. She has gained hands-on experience working in telehealth at an FQHC in Northern California focusing on building a reputable telemedicine program, along with implementing substantive workflow changes within an FQHC to better health outcomes of local patients during their referral process.
Amanda is currently working towards her bachelor of science in Health and Human Services and is passionate about improving care access across California. She wants to utilize her career path to help implement high-quality care and access throughout the state with a focus among rural health and vulnerable populations.
