Feedback Needed! DHCS wants to know how it can strengthen communication with physicians and patients

November 04, 2024

What You Need to Know: DHCS is looking for physicians to participate in online focus groups to identify opportunities to strengthen communication with Medi-Cal physicians and patients.

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking physician participants for a series of online focus groups that will start the week of December 9, 2024. These sessions will seek to identify opportunities to strengthen communication between DHCS, physicians and Medi-Cal patients.

Participants will be asked to share how they think DHCS can better support physicians with Medi-Cal patient education materials and communication as it relates to changes in Medi-Cal coverage and accessing certain benefits, such as those available through the CalAIM program.

Physicians will also be asked what they are hearing from patients – what questions patients are asking, what services are understood and which ones are not.

These virtual discussions will be roughly 90 minutes in length and will likely be held in the evening. Interested physicians can contact CMA at economicservices@cmadocs.org or (916) 551-2061.
