The California Medical Association (CMA) will be making changes to the way its annual continuing medical education (CME) provider accreditation fee will be calculated for 2025. Historically, the fee schedule has been based on the average number of credit hours a CME provider offered over the previous three years.
Beginning in 2025, CMA’s annual accreditation fees will be calculated using the greater of the following three-year averages: the number of CME credits offered OR the average number of learner interactions. Please see the updated 2025 fee schedule by clicking here.
The fee will be based on data CME providers reported for the 2021-2023 reporting years in the Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS). Invoices for calendar year 2025 will be sent out in March 2025. Health systems are charged a fee based on the aggregate credits offered by all entities that are part of the system’s CME program.
Please note that the CMA annual fee is separate from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) annual fee (billed directly by ACCME) and Reaccreditation Self Study fee. If you have any questions about this change, please contact cme@cmadocs.org.
