The California Medical Association (CMA) is hosting a free webinar – Workplace Violence Prevention in Ambulatory Care Settings – on July 30, 2024, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.
Workplace violence has become increasingly prevalent in ambulatory care settings, where most health care workers are not trained to safely respond to escalating behavior and security resources are less common – both of which create a particularly vulnerable environment for health care workers.
A new law that took effect July 1, 2024, (Senate Bill 553, 2023) requires California employers to take steps to prevent and respond to workplace violence. Under SB 553, covered employers—including outpatient care/clinic settings—must adopt comprehensive workplace violence prevention plans.
Attendees of this webinar will learn steps to implement a workplace violence prevention plan and how to identify risk prevention approaches to reduce the likelihood of workplace violence.
This webinar is free to all interested parties and is sponsored by The Doctors Company. Free CME is available for this event. To obtain credit and a certificate of completion, learners must complete a program evaluation.
