The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has opened the Final Score Preview period for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Clinicians and authorized representatives of practices, virtual groups and APM entities (including Shared Savings Program ACOs) can now sign into the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website to preview MIPS final scores for the 2023 performance period.

The MIPS preview period provides clinicians with the opportunity to review their final score before the 2025 payment adjustments are finalized. Clinicians’ 2023 MIPS scores will determine their 2025 MIPS payment adjustment.

During the preview period, performance feedback displays data associated with the highest final score that could be attributed to the clinician, group or APM entity, and all the data required to calculate final scores. Entities will also be able to review supplemental reports for administrative claims-based measures for the quality and cost performance categories.

The MIPS Final Score Preview will be available until final performance feedback and payment adjustments are released in August 2024.

If you believe there’s an error with information displayed during the MIPS Final Score Preview period, contact the QPP Service Center at (866) 288-8292 (TRS: 711) or QPP@cms.hhs.gov.
