Area(s) of Interest: Health Information Technology

Last week, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) notified more than 200 primary care practices about their selection for the Equity and Practice Transformation (EPT) Provider Directed Payment Program.

Practices must confirm their interest in participating in the program by emailing DHCS no later than January 26, 2024. Practices that do not affirmatively accept entry into the program by that date will not be included in the program. The email was sent to the primary and secondary contacts the practices listed in their applications back in October 2023.

The EPT Provider Directed Payment Program will provide $650 million over five years to support primary care practices to address population health and health equity, as well as develop upstream models of care. Payments will be made to practices after they complete specified milestones.

The California Medical Association (CMA) Physician Services Organization (PSO) can provide technical assistance to EPT participants, including:

  • Project plan and budget development
  • Ready to-go tools and templates
  • Vendor and practice partner management
  • Progress assessments and reports outs

If your practice is interested in learning more about the technical assistance services offered by the CMA PSO, please email physicianservices@cmadocs.org for more information.
