To help physicians understand the current state of telehealth in California, the California Medical Association (CMA) has published a Telehealth Policy Update.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, both public and private health plans were pushed through CMA advocacy to expand their coverage and reimbursement for services provided via telehealth. Although the pandemic-era telehealth waivers have ended, many telehealth flexibilities will extend beyond the end of the pandemic due in large part to CMA advocacy at the state and national levels.

For more details, see CMA’s Telehealth Policy Update. The document is free and available to members-only.
