PHC invites women physicians to complete survey on well-being and career satisfaction

May 03, 2022

The California Medical Association (CMA) foundation—Physicians for a Healthy California—and University of California Health are extending their research on the well-being of California women physicians through a grant from The Physicians Foundation.

In May 2022, women physicians licensed by the Medical Board of California will be invited to participate in an anonymous online surveyThe Well-Being of California Women Physicians: Burnout, Career Satisfaction, and Mental Health. Data obtained will be compared to pre-pandemic data from 2018.

The purpose of this project is to assess different aspects of well-being and obtain information on work experiences from women physicians in California, as well as to identify factors that impact well-being and career satisfaction.

Small focus groups will also be held in summer 2022 to learn more about the factors that impact well-being and career satisfaction for diverse women physicians. Participants will discuss what health care organizations can do to better support diverse women physicians.

The previous study, published in 2021, is available here. Women physicians can take the 2022 survey here
