Physician Workforce
Graduate medical education (GME) is a critical workforce development strategy to address California’s physician workforce shortages. Physicians for a Healthy California’s (PHC) virtual GME Leadership Summit – scheduled for May 5, 2022 – is a unique educational and exciting networking event that helps develop and sustain new GME programs in medically underserved areas and specialties by convening subject matter experts and thought leaders to provide insight and expertise.
PHC is inviting physician workforce development leaders, GME leadership subject matter experts and GME consultants to submit abstracts for workshops and/or panels during the summit.
Submission topics include the GME landscape in California; feasibility studies and business planning; curriculum development; recruiting/retaining faculty and residents; and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education institutional and program accreditation.
The deadline for abstract submission is 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on February 22, 2022, and speakers will receive a $250 honorarium.
Incomplete submissions will not be considered, and most workshops and/or panels will be scheduled for 55-minute time blocks. PHC staff reserve the right to adjust the length of presentations to accommodate the overall conference agenda.
Submissions should also identify any conflict of interest with the presented content (E.G., commercial interest, affiliation with a vendor and/or receipt of royalties) and affirm that their abstract presentations will not be used to sell a particular product or service. PHC reserves the right to rescind the acceptance of an abstract due to any conflict of interest discovered after the fact.
Please send submissions and any questions to GMEStartups@phcdocs.org.
