Reminder: New Standards for Integrity and Independence effective January 1, 2022

November 03, 2021
Area(s) of Interest: Continuing Medical Education (CME)

As a reminder, the new Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education become effective January 1, 2022.

The ACCME’s standards resources web page includes full information on the changes, a toolkit of helpful templates and a transition checklist to ensure you are prepared. Newly added resources include a helpful planning guide and case scenarios. If you have not already updated your processes and mechanisms to implement the new standards, the ACCME resources will be helpful.

As your accreditor, the California Medical Association is here to help! Reach out with questions to cme@cmadocs.org.
