CDPH hosting two webinars in preparation for COVID-19 vaccination of 5-11 year olds

COVID-19 Vaccination of 5-11-Year-Olds for Providers of Pediatric Services

Providers of pediatric services, please join the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for a one-hour town hall webinar, led by Erica Pan, M.D., CDPH state epidemiologist, to discuss COVID-19 vaccination of 5-11-year-olds. CDPH will share recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the Western States Scientific & Safety Review Workgroup for expanded vaccine eligibility guidance for children aged 5-11. Participants will also be encouraged to share barriers to and lessons learned from the COVID-19 vaccination efforts so far.

How to Have Effective Conversations with Parents about COVID-19 Vaccines for School-Aged Children

CDPH is also hosting a webinar on how to effectively communicate with parents about COVID-19 vaccines for children on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 12 p.m.

This one-hour training led by pedicatrician Eric Ball, M.D., will cover:​

  • Evidence regarding safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine for children.
  • Key messages addressing common concerns among parents about COVID-19 vaccination for their child(ren).
  • Communication tips and resources to use with parents.
