Starting in 2021, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) will direct bill California Medical Association (CMA)-accredited providers for the annual State Medical Societies fee (previously known as the “pass through fee”). ACCME sent an invoice to each accredited provider in mid-October, with payment due February 1, 2021. 

The fee is based on Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) data and calculated on the highest of average activities per year or average learner interactions per year.

Note that this is a separate fee from CMA’s Annual Accreditation Fee, which was due October 31, 2020.

CMA will continue to work with ACCME to ensure accredited providers comply with fee requirements.
