Historically, the annual meeting of the CMA House of Delegates (HOD) had served as the largest in-person fundraising event for the CMA Political Action Committee (CALPAC). Bringing together more than 800 physicians for three-plus days of meetings, HOD served as the perfect opportunity for CALPAC Board members to discuss the importance of CALPAC’s work with their colleagues and help fundraise for future activity.

To adjust to the virtual HOD format and help ensure the ongoing strength of CALPAC in an important election year, the CALPAC Board has adopted a virtual fundraising contact program, and is individually reaching out to Delegates and Alternates within each delegation to the house to talk about the important work of CALPAC and request their colleagues’ renewed financial support.

With a significant threat to decimate MICRA set for the November 2022 ballot and the number of bad bills in the legislature continuing to increase, surpassing last year’s CALPAC fundraising record is not just important, it’s absolutely critical to our future success.
