This year's conference will be held at the beautiful San Diego Convention Center on April 11-13, 2014.

Leadership development and practice management are the main focus areas of the 2014 Leadership Academy breakouts. With a choice of offerings in each area during the scheduled breakout periods, attendees can customize a track in one area or “mix and match” workshops. 

Leadership Development

Leadership development breakouts include sessions designed to equip physicians with skill sets – from interpersonal skills such as communicating effectively, resolving conflicts, and working collaboratively with others, to administrative skills such as meeting management and financial oversight – needed to succeed as leaders of medical groups, medical staffs or other organizations. Additional presentations will focus on medical practice leadership techniques relevant to physicians and practice managers alike.  A special session will examine the specific challenges women physicians face in achieving leadership positions.

Practice Management

Practice management workshops will address a wide range of topics including reimbursement coding, techniques to improve both patient and staff satisfaction, employment law issues, electronic health records, tools to improve financial success, insurance provider networks and reimbursement, and more.

Special Sessions

Special sessions on medical practice ownership and employment options and medical practice valuation will provide information relevant in a time of transition as marketplace changes discussed in Leadership Academy general sessions have real-world impact on physician practices.
