Senate pro Tem introduces MICRA legislation

Late last week, only hours before the bill introduction deadline, Senate Pro tem Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) introduced SB 1429, a so-called “spot bill” that is intended to gut California's Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) of its protections and lift the cap on non-economic damages.
