Susan McEntire serves as Vice President of Political Operations for the California Medical Association. She has over two decades of experience in high-level state government positions and working in electoral politics.
She began working in the State Legislature in 1996 where, over time, she worked both for the State Assembly and the State Senate. During Susan's longstanding tenure in the Assembly, she worked for seven different Assembly Speakers.
During her years working in the Legislature, Susan served as Chief of Staff to multiple legislators, served as a District Director and served in a number of roles for the Assembly Democratic Caucus: as a Consultant, Chief Deputy, and ultimately the Director. Her work took her to legislative districts across the State. She also served as the advisor within the Speaker’s office on elections policy.
After serving as the Director of the Democratic Office of Communications and Outreach, Susan became the Political Director for the Assembly Democrats political operation, where she had previously served as Statewide Field Director. As Political Director she was able to draw on her decades of experience running state legislative campaigns, running field operations and working with pollsters.
