TITLE: Senior Director of Programs
DIVISION: Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC)
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
OFFICE LOCATION: Sacramento
EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $120,000-$130,000
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Programs reports to the Chief Operating Officer of Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC). The Senior Director of Programs is a full-time position designed to serve as the key operational lead for programs administered to improve health outcomes in underserved communities through physician workforce development. This position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, Senior Director of Operations, PHC Program Directors and Advisory Council(s) to develop, implement and evaluate programs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as a key figure in PHC’s leadership team, developing, planning, executing and evaluating programs

Serves as the subject matter expert on physician workforce priorities such as graduate medical education, physician shortages, etc.

Leads the Program Implementation Team and provides daily operational oversight to program directors and staff

Serves as the project manager for the Program Implementation Team leading efforts regarding program design, execution, evaluation, and communications

Develops and implements a stakeholder engagement and partnership development process

Develops and executes work plans for the programs, including performance objectives

Leads program design phase including drafting application, scoring criteria, contract terms, marketing materials, etc.

Serves as primary liaison between programs and oversight agencies

Develops and oversees program communication plans in partnership with the Chief Strategy Officer/Strategic Initiatives team

Drafts and monitors program budgets and ensures internal controls are followed
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
-
Minimum five years of experience administering programs

Minimum five years of experience managing staff
-
Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, public policy, marketing, etc.

Ability to take initiative and work independently with little to no direction

Ability to work as part of a highly integrated team with different decision-makers

Strong organizational and planning skills

Experience in analyzing information to forecast trends and make astute assessments

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Ability to travel and occasionally work evening and weekend events

Computer skill in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word
Preferred:
- Minimum of seven years administering programs and managing staff
- Master's degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, etc.
- Experience scaling and launching new initiatives
- Experience administering public programs
- Ability to manage up, and across different teams
